General Terms and Conditions of Sharks Car Rental
1. These terms and conditions, in the signed contract, constitute the rental agreement with Sharks Car Rental.
2. Any changes to this rental agreement must be made in writing and signed by both parties.
3. You represent that you are a competent and validly licensed driver. You agree that we have the right to check your license for validity. Unless specifically authorized and specified, only you, your spouse or your domestic partner may drive this vehicle. This driver must be at least 22 years old and also hold a valid license. Permitting any other person to drive the vehicle will void all insurance provisions and make the renter liable for all damages.
4. The vehicle must never be driven while under the influence of alcohol/residual alcohol.
Furthermore, it may not be used in racing or to push or tow another vehicle. It may only be operated on paved roads.
5. Costs for fuel are borne by the renter.
6. The vehicle must be returned on the day and time specified by the lessor, otherwise the car will be overdue and subject to police confiscation, these fees will be borne by the renter.
If the renter wishes to extend the original rental period and the car is not held for another reservation, this must be notified to us and an additional deposit must be paid.
7. The customer is not entitled to order repairs or spare parts.
8. In case of an accident, the renter must immediately notify the police and the owner (24 hour phone number is listed on the front of this contract) and must not leave the vehicle unattended in order to secure the vehicle and accessories. In any case, the renter must always pay the excess, if the renter is innocent and the other guilty driver or his insurance pays all damages, the excess will be refunded to the renter.
9. Receipts for taxes and insurance paid are stored in the vehicle.
10. The customer should return the vehicle to Sharks Car Rental in the same condition as it was received.
11. All repairs must be reported to the rental company and settled at the end of the rental.
12. The lessor guarantees the lessee that he has statutory liability and property damage insurance on all rented vehicles.
Injury to third parties and damage to other people’s property up to an amount of RD$500,000 are covered.
Damages exceeding this amount must be paid by the tenant.
13. If the renter moves away from the location (address) in the Dominican Republic at the time of rental, he must report this immediately, otherwise there are grounds for the vehicle to be returned to the lessor by the police.
14. The car must not leave the borders of the Dominican Republic, trips to the Republic of Haiti are strictly prohibited. The rental company must be informed of any trips to a high-risk area (large cities, Santiago and Santo Domingo).
15. All fines must be reported to Sharks Car Rental and paid at the end of the rental period at the latest.
